welcome mr. philip cahill

Dear Pope John Paul II Families,

We are pleased to provide an update regarding the interim principal position at Pope John Paul II School.  Under the direction of the Office of Catholic Schools and in conjunction with Big Shoulders Fund, Mr. Philip Cahill was selected to serve as the interim principal for the remainder of the 2020-21 school year.

Mr. Cahill will officially transition into his new role on October 13 and will be full-time on-site the following week.  He looks forward to introducing himself to the community in the days ahead and to getting to know and work with the students, staff, and families of Pope John Paul II School.  We are currently working to schedule a virtual meet and greet to welcome him to the PJPII community.

In our search, it was important to have someone with administrative experience and a love for Catholic education.  We were fortunate to have a candidate of Mr. Cahill’s caliber.  He brings a wealth of Catholic school experience as a teacher and administrator.  He has worked at all levels of schooling, from elementary through college.  Most recently, he was the Athletic Director at Brother Rice High School for the last 17 years.  We are optimistic that he will bring steady and faith-filled leadership to Pope John Paul II School.

Change can be a challenge and we know that this is already an unusual year.  We appreciate your ongoing support and commitment.  We encourage you to reach out to Mr. Cahill with questions or to introduce yourself.

Sincerely,

Bridget de la Peña, Ed.D.
