Academic – (with Principal ex officio)

Charged with reviewing the curriculum; reviewing test scores and other academic data; evaluating instructional materials and technology; developing academic standards and goals for consideration by the Board

 

Athletics – (with Athletic Director ex officio)

Charged with oversight of all the athletic activities of the school, including sports teams, physical education, and extracurricular activities; drafts policies and procedures for school, coaches, parents, and students for consideration by the Board

 

Buildings and Grounds

Charged with reviewing the physical conditions of the buildings and grounds; recommending priorities for maintenance and upgrades; helping to organize cost-effective solutions; and reporting on these activities to the Board

 

            Development

Charged with developing a larger financial base for the school through recruitment efforts, fundraising, collaboration with the Home and School Association and the Holy Cross Bazaar Committee, and other potential areas; reporting on these efforts to the Board

 

Ecclesial Relations

Charged with maintaining lines of communication with the Archdiocese, the ArchdioceseÕs Office of Catholic Schools, the PJP2 Council of Pastors, the parishioners of each parish, and the New Britain Deanery; may bring information or questions from the Board to these various groups; represents the BoardÕs official policies to these groups; reports on these communications to the Board

 

Finance – (with Finance Director ex officio)

Charged with reviewing all financial data; evaluating financial position; drafting  the schoolÕs operational budget;  and recommending financial strategies to the Board

 

Planning

Charged with recommending the priorities and goals of the School and the Board; drafting the five-year plan for consideration by the Board; reviewing facilities usage

 

            Publicity

Charged with improving the public relations effort of the school through the Internet, local media, and other avenues; works closely with the Development Committee, especially with regard to recruitment; keeps PJP2 parents informed of Board activities; reports on these efforts to the Board
